Terms of Use: The "At-Cost" Agreement

1. The Deal

Distill Audio is a side project built by Julian Ilson in Gatineau, Quebec. We provide on-demand, AI-generated podcast episodes that you request via text and listen to via a private RSS feed. By using this service, you agree to these terms.

2. The $0.04 Cost Promise

• Transparent Pricing: We charge you exactly what it costs to run your request. This includes the raw API costs from our AI providers and the underlying infrastructure costs (like domain hosting and server fees).
• No Markup: We do not add a surcharge, profit margin, or "Premium AI" markup.
• Credits: You buy credits in advance, and we deduct them as you generate episodes.
• Refunds: Because we pass through third-party costs directly, all sales are final. However, if a technical error prevents your episode from being generated, we will credit your account.

3. Content & Delivery

• RSS Delivery: Episodes are published to a private RSS link for your podcast app. We do not "send" the audio files directly over text.
• AI Outputs: These episodes are created by a "narrative engine". AI can occasionally get facts wrong or "hallucinate." Use these for personal curiosity and entertainment, not as professional advice.
• Conduct: Don't use Distill to generate illegal, harmful, or harassing content.

4. Liability

Distill is provided "as is." We aren't responsible if an episode doesn't meet your expectations or if the AI says something factually questionable.
